Welcome to Simply Stated!

Thank you so much for stopping by. This blog is something I've set up just for fun -- yours and mine! There are any number of things that may be discussed here from everyday living in the California desert to digital scrapbooking to my favorite books to cardmaking to the art of letter writing to caring for feral cats to movies I like. After you read my bio, you should have a good sense of other topics you may find here. I welcome your comments and hope you return again and again!

200 Miles and Counting

After a late start, long past sunrise now that our early morning temps are running in the mid-fifties, Floyd and I headed out on our 100th trip around our property. We've walked 200 miles in 100 consecutive days since June 16th. Frequently, while we walk, we discuss all the different places we could have walked to by now had we headed in a straight line instead of around and around in circles. ;-D

  1. Walking in circles you notice little things you never saw before. Wouldn't it be lovely to be able to go in a straight line and explore what is out there, stop and smell the roses. If I could only take my house with me so I didn't have to walk home.

  2. Morning walks are the best! Sometimes it is hard to make yourself get up out of your nice comfortable bed, but when you do, it is so worth it. There is something special about watching the sun come up and smelling the fresh morning air. What a great way to start the day!

  3. Hi Denise~

You're so right about seeing things we never saw before including many unidentified animal tracks wending their way across our acreage, many lovely colored birds, and even an adolescent Red-Tailed Hawk eyeing smaller birds and our feral kittens! ~js.

  4. Hi Adrienne~

I agree with you, our early morning walk is a wonderful way to start each day! ~js.
